First Pics, September 8
Hi All,
Well, I bought this Norris on Craigslist a few weeks ago. This is my eigth Camper I have owned.. I think I may put a picture of the "Eight is Enough" cast inside a cabinet somewhere as an inside joke.. My wife Erika definitely thinks Eight is Enough, but I cant see ever not looking for a new one.. They are all unique, and have their own history. I love all of em!
This Norris is a cool little Camper. It's been hard to find much info on the company, or many other pictures. I live in Boston, and about 6 months ago I found one listed for sale in Western Massachusetts, but it had sold before I was able to rescue it.. No pictures though!
This one is unique in that it is relatively short, about 11 ft long, just longer than a Shasta Compact (I have had one of those), but it is also pretty tall, with 6ft 3" of headroom inside! Also, the camper is wide too, about 75 inches interior width, plenty for me to stretch out in!
The camper at one time had a pressurized water tank, but that is long gone.
Nice 2 way fridge, Magic Chef 3 burner cooktop and heater. The cabinets in this camper are really spacious, and well made.
The countertop is a nice gold sparkled white.. no aluminum trim to the counters or the table, but I plan on adding that and dressing the camper up a bit.
The cone lights above each bench in front are gone, but I have nice Shasta Cone replacements, and fiberglass sconces from a 1964 AstroDome to go in the back (those are gone too). The fiberglass sconces are my favorite lights that I have seen bin a camper, hands down. they give off such a nice warm glow, especially with a nice birch interior, which the Norris will have come springtime!
The frame is VERY beefy.. great shape, and also the camper has an aluminum underbody, just like Airstreams! I think this is a great feature!
I will be posting pics as progress is made, but it may take a few months to get really into it.. there is another 1 1/2 months of camping weather up here, especially with the heater that works great!
Please bookmark me every and check back every so often.
If you have a Norris Camper, or any info about them, I would LOVE to see. Please contact me.
Thanks and Happy Camping!

Hello! I can't believe I found another person with a Norris! I have a 1964 Norris Woodsman, and she's only 7" x 14". I have a lot of the original paperwork, including the catalog. Please email me foofooelm@gmail.com if you'd like to share information!
ReplyDelete65 Norris was the first camper I ever camped in. Have you finished it?
ReplyDeleteWe have a 1965 Norris 19' trsiler. We spent our house eymoon in it when it was brand new. Raised 6 kids in it & still use it regularly each summer. It is totally original except for sear cushions & curtains. I can take pictures if it helps anybody with their testoration. Myself i.would like to rebuild entry & trunk doors, and re-roof the back third of the roof aND the back of the trailer. Woulalso like to patch some bad wood paneling inside. Looking for suggestions and sourced.
ReplyDeleteI have a suggestion. You should sell your Norris to your 3rd born for $1. I understand he loves to restore old things.
DeleteHi all, I know this is an old conversation but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what year my 18 ft Norr might be and where you found your vin's. My husband bought ours without any paperwork, just a bill of sale. We found a 6-digit serial number on the tongue but that's all.
ReplyDeleteI also have a 65 Norris we are restoring. Inside done working on painting outside. We love it I bought it 10 years ago for $ 700.00. A great find
